It’s kind of like if your grandma gives you a strangly-fitting sweater. You’re not sure about wearing it, but you feel obligated to because your grandma made it and she’s probably proud of it, so you do.
However, I might have to pay the consequences now.
Okay, so it’s been a little more than ten minutes and I’ve already bugged just about everyone I can bug about it and more. But still, I want to document feelings as often as I can and gauge how they grow and recede as the months progress.
Let me, really quickly, state the whole thing I’ve been…
This is the weirdest thing I’ve ever had happen to me on twitter.
After checking out his last video, I decided that I have lost interest. I unsubbed, and I mentioned it in a tweet. Next thing I know, he replies to me, asking for me to unfollow him because he doesn’t like b!tches who complain.
He replied to me.
That’s the part that really freaks me out. How did he find my tweet? Anyway, I replied back, apologizing and saying that I was just saying.
I honestly don’t care much about him insulting me like that. He doesn’t seem like a really nice guy, and that’s probably the reason why I unsubbed. But I may have learned my lesson about tweeting. Don’t tweet every single thing, kids! xD
Anyway, I also did unfollow him. I think that what he said to me revealed to me that his YouTube fame has gone to his head. He cares too much about subs. I’m not asking you to unsub to him like I did. Please do whatever you feel like doing. I just wanted to share my experience with you, and how I felt about it.
So I decided to join the Hoot Owls, the official Street Team for Owl City! I am a big fan, if you couldn’t tell by my blog posts, so I thought that I would contribute my awesomeness to the group.
Fancorps uses a ranking system in street teams, and Owl City’s street team is no exception. I’m hoping to get higher in rank as I go on. In order to gain rank, of course, is to complete orders. These orders are often about the group the street team supports. Most support the group, which is the point of the street team (that’s right, it’s not just a fanclub for talking about an object of affection!).
If you want, you can join too. It’s free, and it’s pretty fun. You just have to maintain activity in the group. Here’s a link: www.owlcity.fancorps.com/signup
Thank you for everything you’ve done. I am so grateful. Thank you for the memories, the experiences, the feelings, and the knowlege. I am forever in your debt. I want to spend forever with this vibe. I want to live the rest of my life with this essence. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
So I don’t usually post entire blog posts about Adam Young/Owl City/Port Blue/Seagull Orchestra. I usually mention him once or twice. But if you haven’t already heard, he has a new project! Ironic it began yesterday, because I had to sing a solo for our class’s version of “Fireflies” (ah, stage fright), but still! If this is news to you Owllets, then check this out!
There’s only one person who likes you more than her,
And that would be me.
I hope we’re meant to be,
Because you are something new,
Because you are something else.
Just something I whipped up. I have the full song, but I want it to actually have a tune and a beat and stuff. So until then, this is what you get. :)
What is your passion? (Mine is drawing and singing. I put it as my “Natural High” when we watched that dumb video in Health. At least I got to see Relient K in it. That was a pleasant suprise. I’m not even a big religeous girl, I just kind of like some songs. I like to babble.)
If you do not know who Justin Beiber is at this point, then you most likely live in complete isolation. He is everywhere you look, from magazines in the supermarket and bookstores, to the videos on YouTube. Honestly, I would like to have my say in how I feel about him.
I feel bad for this kid. He has a voice, and I think he can play the guitar, but he clearly needs to gain a few years before he can be taken seriously. I don’t like his music at all. The lyrics clearly reveal his youth, if his young voice did not give it away at first listen, and the sound is very generic. I feel like his talent is being wasted on the media before he could let it mature.
I blame the media. I think they are using this kid to make money. I’ve heard that he started on YouTube, although this could be a lie. As a constant user of YouTube since before Beiber came along, I probably would have found him at one point. Anyway, I guess the corporations decided to take this kid and sell him out. All because a lot of girls find him attractive, and his singing isn’t half bad. However, it’s not exactly him I hate. It’s the fans, and how insane they are.
Luckily, I don’t have any crazy Beiber fans who go to my school. The girls who like him where I live are not out of their mind. However, I’ve encountered a few while logging into Twitter, if you consider the “top tweets” window or whatever it called “encountering”. I’ve seen many young girls devote themselves to the object of their affection (as an Owl City fan, I’ve talked online to many girls who have pictures of Adam Young everywhere on their YT/Twitter pages. Even Adam has his superfans.) I don’t mind them, as long as they retain sanity. But there are too many Beiber fans who take their feelings for him too far. It makes me very sad to see the people in my generation do such silly things.
Anyway, I hope I don’t anger you too much by this post. I just have a lot of explaining to do about Beiber. Don’t kill me, Beiber fans. It is a free world, we’re free to express our opinions. Please respect my opinion, because I respect yours.
